Karleigh Sue- Treasure for Life

Popping by to share this pregnancy congratulations card made using the stunning Treasure for Life digi by Karleigh Sue. She was very kindly shared as a freebie a while ago for a Facebook challenge, but it's taken me a while to get her on a project as life kind of got in the way!

I created the backing paper myself on my gelli plate, using a stencil called Ocean Swirls ( how appropriate!). The image was coloured with promarkers and embelished with stickles and perfect pearls. I added texture to the card with a scrap of mesh fabric I've been hoarding for a while, just waiting for a use for it, and added some resin shells and seahorses. A swirl of gems and some frantage finished my project nicely.

Unfortunately as she was a freebie she doesn't appear in the digi shop as yet, but there are some other equally gorgeous KS mermaids in there so do take a look. You may even want to play along in the latest Karleigh Sue challenges on the blog too if you are feeling inspired!

MoonFlower Ashlee Butterfly Wings Faerie

It's proving a busy month for us over at MoonFlower. Last week I was busy colouring up the newsletter freebie ( have you got yours yet? If not scroll down for details on my previous blog post) and creating a card with Harp Maiden for the colouring challenge on Donna Marie's Colourists Unite Facebook page, and this week sees the launch of the first faerie in the brand new Ashlee range. There will be more to follow as they are released, but first up is Ashlee Butterfly Wings Faerie. Isn't she adorable? You can find her in the digi shop here.

I coloured her using Spectrum Noir pencils and added stickles and gems for some fairy glitz. I used a mask to create the grass effect and used distress inks on the grass and sky. I set her under a flower border, created with a free stamp I got in a magazine a while ago. I made an easel card and decorated with pretty  Hunkydory card and sentiment and some gems. I think easel cards may be my new 'thing' as they are so simple yet effective.

Karleigh Sue - Birthday Sweets

It's the end of the school holiday and what a hectic week it's been with 6 children to look after! We've had great fun and I'm now exhausted! I had to make a little colouring time in the evenings to help me unwind and I even managed to get this gorgeous birthday girl on a card. She is called Birthday Sweets, and you can find her here in the Karleigh Sue shop.

Karleigh Sue Sexy Challenge- Foolish Thoughts

It's time for another sexy challenge over at Karleigh Sue and this month the theme is Foolish Thoughts ( well it is April after all!).

My card for this challenge uses Gift Wrapped. Isn't she gorgeous?! I coloured her using promarkers, and gave her a lovely purple ribbon ( one of my favourite colours!). I mounted her on a stepper card, decorated with luxury flocked papers and ribbon. I created the sentiment myself.

What husband wouldn't want to unwrap her on his special day?

We'd love to see your sexy makes entered in the challenge. You don't have to use a KS digi but you may get an extra prize if you do.

MoonFlower Harp Maiden Competition- DT Inspiration Post

Good afternoon folks. What a gorgeous afternoon it is too here in the UK. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I am thoroughly enjoying the end of my week off work with a little crafty time.

There are exciting things happening at MoonFlower right now, starting with a colouring competition in conjunction with Donna Marie's Colourists Unite Facebook page, using the stunning Harp Maiden digi stamp, which can be bought at a discounted price here. We would love to see your entries over on Donna's facebook page.  MoonFlower are also offering a buy three get one free deal so why not pop to the digi shop and treat yourself. I promise you they are a joy to colour!

My DT inspiration was coloured with promarkers and I used chalks to create the background. She is so stunning that I wanted to make the card clean and simple so that the focus is purely on her so I simply used one patterned paper and mat and layered using silver card.

If you are interested in MoonFlower digis you can also follow the Facebook Fan Page to keep up to date with all our news and events. We'd love to see you there.

Tea and a Book

Good morning everyone and happy Easter to you all!

I love lazy Sunday mornings, and while today for me will be a busy one as we are in the throws of bank holiday weekend decorating, preparing a family meal for this evening, and of course , egg hunting, normally it's the perfect time to curl up with a brew and a good book and relax. Today's beauty from Saturated Canary is doing just that ( you can find her here).

Have a great Easter and don't eat too much chocolate!

Karleigh Sue April Challenge- Anything but a Card DT post

It's time for another challenge over at Karleigh Sue Challenge Blog and this months theme is 'Anything but a Card'.

It's been ages since I have done any scrapbooking as my love of card making and altering things kind of took over ( when I looked in my scrap book it was actually 2 years ago- time flies so quickly!!) so this was the perfect opportunity for me to get back into it and start creating some more pages recording our special family moments.

It was Mothering Sunday here in the UK a couple of weeks ago so we ditched the usual Sunday domestic chores in favour of a rather soggy family day out with my Mum, two of my four sisters, some of my nieces and some of the fellas who have been brave enough to enter our female dominated family. Oh, and my sister Tina's gorgeous pooches Jessie and Woody! We had a wonderful day at Painshill Park in Surrey despite the rain. When you are with your special people you can indeed enjoy life whatever the weather!

The Karleigh Sue digi Rainy Days complemented the photographs beautifully ( although we didn't manage to look quite as elegant as she does in the rain!). It's the first time I have used a digi on a scarpbook page but it definitely won't be the last as I think it can really add to it in a fun way. Don't you agree?

We would love to see your entries this month- I know you are all a talented bunch so why not get creating and join in.  You don't have to use a Karleigh Sue image but you may win a bonus digi if you do.
