That's My Jam by Karleigh Sue

It's raining hard and that can only mean one thing- it's August bank holiday here in the UK! So what better way to pass the time than to brighten my day with some colourful crafting!

Today I have used That's my Jam by Karleigh Sue, coloured with vibrant promarkers. I didn't have a backing paper that would work with it so used a music notes mask and distress inks around her to really give the card some extra pizzazz, and simply mat and layered on coloured card stock for a clean and simple card. The sentiment is a stamp from the Art Flower set by Creative Expressions.

Happy Birthday to Cheri

This week has seen the birthday of the one and only Cheri- artist extraordinaire at Karleigh Sue. We had a great celebration over on the Facebook Fan Page and a blog hop too. So much fun! Of course I couldn't let her special day go by without sending her a hand made card, and what better than to use her own art work? I chose to use Craft Queen and for something a little different I merged it using this Rainbow Meadow background digi from Make It Crafty, using Craft Artist. Cheri is really going places so I loved the idea of her whizzing over a colourful rainbow on her hot gun! I coloured with promarkers and used a background technique to create the flower meadow that I learned in an online Create and Learn colouring class from Kit and Clowder.

Karleigh Sue Birthday blog hop!!

Yay! We are having a birthday blog hop for Cheri, the artist at Karleigh Sue Digi Stamps!
This also celebrates the first YEAR of Karleigh Sue Digis (where has the time gone?).
To mark the occasion, we are blog HOPPING using our favourite images drawn during this period at KS!

The Blog hop starts  here!

You should have reached my blog from Kate
where you will have seen her gorgeous creation!
now you are on Lynda's blog and I have made this...

...using Captain Hawt. You can find her here.

She's a new release but has quickly become a firm favourite, I just love her sexy sass and think she's suitable for a card for men or women. I'm learning to use Craft Artist on the pc as it was a recent birthday gift, and so I decided to use the programme to re size the image, and add the sentiment ( found on Pinterest when searching for pirate quotes). Once printed I coloured with Copics and mounted on black card, creating a very clean and simple card.

next up on the hop is Winnie.

Please don't forget to visit all the people on this hop list, and if you leave a comment on EACH ONE you could be in the running for a special prize in the prize draw!
*drawn at random from everyone who has commented on ALL blogs

In case you joined me here , or you have gotten lost,
here is the full blog hop list!

Cow in an Air Balloon- Julia Spiri New Release

As I announced recently I am now on the DT for Julia Spiri and I am thrilled to be working with her very cute images. This week there is a new release and I couldn't resist working with it as I have a passion for hot air balloons ( I did joke to the DT co ordinator that having been up in one twice I could have been  be the inspiration for Cow in an Air Balloon lol!)

Isn't it cute! You can find it here in the Etsy store. I coloured with promarkers, and mounted on some sky patterned paper. The other air balloons and scenery are rub ons.

Don't forget that our first challenge launches on 3rd September on the blog so join in if you can!

You can also keep up to date via the Facebook page if you are a facebooker. We'd love to see you there.

Fire Rescue- Karleigh Sue Sexy Challenge DT Post

It's time for another sexy challenge over at Karleigh Sue and this month the theme is a nice and easy one as anything goes using a sexy image.

I have used Fire Rescue to create my smokin' hot card. Perfect for anyone with a firefighter in the family! She is coloured with a combination of promarkers and copics, and the background has been created using distress ink and a mask from Splodge Away. I stamped the sentiment with individual letters in Versafine ink.

We would love to see your makes being entered so even if it's out of your comfort zone why not have a go and play along. There are lots of images in the digi shoppe to choose from. You don't have to use a KS image but we like it when you do of course :)

Not Just Cards August Challenge DT Post

Wow it's August already! This year is flying fast! However, a new month means a new challenge over at Not Just Cards and as always this month the theme is ' Anything Goes'.  Our sponsors this month are SLS Lines , Milk CoffeeJulia Spiri and Delightful Digis so do check them out as they all have great images to craft with.

My first project is an altered paper mache tea bag box. I love Alice in Wonderland and so the Mad Hatter from SLS Lines was the perfect image for the job! I coloured him with promarkers and fussy cut. I painted the paper mache box in green acrylic paint and dry brushed over with cream paint to give a distressed look. After rummaging through my stash for a suitable paper I was pleased to find one all about tea- result! I didtress the edges and inked with distress ink and adhered it to the box, and added some embellishments. The alphabet stickers I have used to write 'Tea Bags' on the front with are by Tim Holtz. I've been wanting a way to organise my herbal teas for ages so am glad to have finally got them organised!

My second project is a card, made using Fairy Princess by Milk Coffee. Isn't she adorable? Again coloured with promarkers, with stickles to give the wings some added princess sparkle.

Last but not least I have made a card using Sweet Girl with Lollipop by Julia Spiri. She is so darned cute!! Coloured with a combination of copics and promarkers and layered on some pretty papers. The sentiment is from a set I got with a magazine a while ago, as are the sweetie jar stamps. I made the jar using a masking technique , and added clear embossing powder over the whole thing to give a glassy finish.

We would love to see you join in this month. There are some great prizes on offer so do play along if you can.

Happy crafting!

Listen Hunny- Karleigh Sue Challenge DT Post

I really don't know where this year is going to it's flying so fast, but it's a new month and that can only mean one thing- time for another challenge at Karleigh Sue. This month is nice and simple with the theme 'Anything Goes' so why not whip out your craft stuff, get creating and join in!

I have used the sassy Listen Hunny digi, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut. I had some funky paper I had made using brusho paints lurking in a drawer and mounted her on that for a young, modern feel. The sentiment is from a set by Art House.

We would love to see you playing along this month. Don't forget you can join our Facebook Fan Page too and share your love of Karleigh Sue there!

Happy crafting!
