Julia Spiri Pocket Letter Challenge DT Inspiration

So excited to share todays post with you all. Julia loves to challenge her DT and boy was the theme for this weeks challeneg of ' Anything Goes with a twist of a pocket letter' a challenge for us all as none of us had ever done one before ( you can find the challenge here ) I don't mind admitting I was a bit nervous, but I love to try new stuff so took a deep breath and got stuck in. I must admit I surprised myself with the result and I am thrilled with it.

I used two gorgeous images from the amazing new release, the Venice Collection. You can find them here in the store. You won't want to miss these I promise- every one is a stunner!

I created the background with pastel aquatint inks, and set to work with a mask, paint and various stamps, some of which I coloured with twinkling H20's. The digis are coloured with copics. The sentiment stamp seemed  most appropriate considering my earlier statement about the challenge daunting me, and is by Visible Image.

Do play along if you can. You don't have to follow the twist, but it's fun if you do. You don't even have to use a Julia Spiri image to be eligible to win. We'd love to see your entries.

You can also follow Julia on the Facebook fan page and share your creations there.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have You Heard.... by Karleigh Sue

It's been a crazy busy week here so sadly I haven't had much time for crafting, but I did manage to get this little cutie on a card finally, having coloured her a few weeks ago. She's called Have You Heard and you can find her here. I think she's perfect for a birthday or valentines card don't you?

I opted to go down the valentines route, and teamed her with some Graphic 45 papers from the Typography range.

Nia and Owl by Julia Spiri

Brr it's a bit chilly out there today! According to the radio some parts of the UK have even had a bit of snow today, so it seems like the perfect time to share this card, made using a recent freebie called Nia and Owl from Julia Spiri. It was shared on her Facebook Fan Page, so if you aren't already a follower then you may want to click the link so you don't miss out on any future offers and fun.

I coloured her in copics, used tumbled glass distress ink and a tree mask to create a wintry backdrop, and some silver ink and a Diana Wakely mask for the snowflakes. A dusting of white flower soft on the ground completed the scene nicely. I kept the card simple, using a coordinating blue backing paper, some snowflake ribbon and ice blue gems. The sentiment was generated on the pc as it was a custom card for a friend and she wanted it personalised.

Julia Spiri January Anything Goes with a twist of Monotone Challenge Dt Post

It's time to kick off the first challenge of 2016 over at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog and this time the theme is anything goes with an optional twist of monotone. Always a fun one to do, and one that really challenges me as I love lots of colour on my projects! However, I also love all things vintage, so opted to use a sepia tone for my card. I finished her off with some handmade flowers and other embellishments from my stash.

The digi I used is called Vintage French Lady and you can find her here. Julia's images are an absolute delight to colour so take a look in the Etsy Store if you fancy treating yourself to some new digis to colour. You don't have to use a Julia Spiri image in the challenge but we love to see it when you do of course!

You can also follow her on the Facebook Fan Page if you are a Facebook user, so why not join us there too?

I hope 2016 bring you all much happiness and good health. Oh, and of course lots of time to craft!

Thanks for stopping by!

Anything Goes- January Challenge at Karleigh Sue

It's new challenge time over at Karleigh Sue and this time there's no excuse not to join in folks as it's a nice easy 'anything goes' theme.

I have chosen to work with Wine Thirty for my card. What better way to start a new year than by chilling out on the bed with a tipple and a pile of digis!

This one was made with my crafting sister in mind, although I probably won't send it to her as this post goes live before her birthday so she will see it lol!  I coloured with a combination of promarkers and copics, and used co ordinating papers from a book that came free with a magazine ages ago. The Keep Calm stamp is from Hobbycraft.

There will be some changes to the way Karleigh Sue challenges are run in the near future, and announcements will be made on our Facebook Fan Page so if you want to keep abreast of things do make sure you join the page. Hopefully it will be for the better, and we can continue to see Cheri's amazing art continue to  go from strength to strength in 2016.

Have a great new year everyone!

Not Just Cards January Challenge Post

January is upon us which means it's time for a new challenge over at Not Just Cards and as always the theme is Anything Goes. Our sponsor this month is All Dressed Up. I just love their cute images. So much fun to work with

For my project I used A Cuddle Makes It All Better. We are dog mad in our family, with three crazy hounds of our own and this digi just reminds me so much of my daughter, who can always be found fussing one of her four legged friends.

We would love to see your entries so do play along if you can. All projects are welcome, including cards so there's lots of scope to play with .

Happy New Year to you all. I hope 2016 is kind to you.

Pumpkin Spice Latte by Karleigh Sue

Boy is it wet out there today! I have a mountain of jobs to do to get ready for being back to work tomorrow after the Christmas break, but weather like this just makes me want to cosy up and craft so I have pulled an hour from my day to put this card together.

The digi is Pumpkin Spice Latte by Karleigh Sue. I loved colouring her up! It's hard to see in the pic but I have added a light dusting of clouds in the background with distress ink and a mask. The tree stamp is by Woodware stamps, and the papers are from the Desert Blooms collection by First Edition.
