Voodoo Doll and Merry Creepmas- Karleigh Sue Inspiration Post

Today I have not one, but two projects to share using digis by Karleigh Sue. They are both from this months new release, which has a slightly dark edge. You can check them all out and see what the rest of the DT have done with them on the blog here.

My first card uses Voodoo Doll and I have kept it very simple, just mounting her on some pretty black scrapbook card and adding a sentiment stamp from Visible Image. If you're not familiar with their stamps check them out- they are fabulous.

I am entering Voodoo Doll in the following challenges:

Christmas is coming, or rather Creepmas, and my second card uses the lovely Merry Creepmas. I coloured her in monochrome, and added glitter to her furry bits, and then created the backing paper using an embossing folder and black paper. I had intended using gilding polish on the flakes, but when I opened the folder I saw that the white of the paper had popped through the black outer layer and it made it look all sketchy and cool so I stuck with that.

I am entering Merry Creepmas into the following challenges:

I hope that I've inspired you to get creative. Don't forget that if you love Karleigh Sue we have a new Facebook group where you can share your work with the images too. Hope to see you there!

New Baby by Saturated Canary

Just over a week ago we had some very exciting family news. My lovely niece gave birth to her second daughter. I have yet to meet my new great niece, but I did of course send them a very special card to congratulate them.

I adore this image by Saturated Canary. I love Krista's digis and am so sad that she is closing down her business at the end of the month ( I have of course had a little shopping spree in advance to stock up!). This one is called New Baby and you can find her here.

Ofelia angel- Julia Spiri new release

It's new release time over at Julia Spiri and this weeks images are just heavenly- quite literally! Two beautiful angels, with the most amazing detail on them. A pure delight to create with.

For my project I have used Ofelia Angel, and coloured her softly with watercolour pens. I die cut around her and inked the edge in tumbled glass distress ink.

To embellish my card I used stamped and embossed feathers, and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. A white resin dove and a doily completed the look nicely.

Please do check the blog and see what the rest of the team have created to inspire you. They are all beyond stunning so you won't want to miss them I promise!

You can also join the Julia Spiri Facebook page if you would like to keep up to date that way.

Tattered Fairy- New Karleigh Sue Release

It's new release day over at Karleigh Sue and boy has Cheri pulled some great digis out of the bag this time! I got to work with the stunning Tattered Fairy ( you can find her in the shop here). Anyone that knows me will know I am a total sucker for a fairy so I am thrilled for my project to be the first to showcase her.

To create my card I merged the image in Craft Artist, with a background scene from Make It Crafty. It was a lot of colouring but well worth the end result I think. I added distress stickles to her wings and wink of stella over her dress to create some magical sparkle.

Do hop over to the inspiration blog to see what my fellow DT have created to inspire you this week. And you can share your creations with us over on our facebook page too. We love to see them.

One Glass of Wine by Bloobel Stamps

As anyone that knows me will know, I do rather enjoy a glass of wine after a busy week, and when I saw this digi  One Glass of Wine , from Bloobel stamps I just couldn't resist!!

I kept the card fairly simple, stamping the sentiment from a combination of an alphabet stamp and a Roald Dahl set. I crossed out the 'p' and replaced it with a 'c' as I know I'd definitely be hiccuping after a glass that size!!

Challenges:

Right, now it's not quite the end of the week yet but I think I fancy a glass of wine myself!

El Gato Dia De Los Muertos by Karleigh Sue

Morning folks! Today I have a cute little chap to brighten your day. Isn't he great?! He's called El Gato Dia De Los Muertos and you can find him here

To create the card I die cut a scalloped circle from pearlescent card, and layered it over some printed parchment paper. The paw prints and sentiment are from a stamp set recently given free with Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. I fussy cut the cat and mounted on foam pads for added dimension.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Tough Girls Eat Cookies by Karleigh Sue

Today I am sharing a Design Team project using the cute Tough Girls Eat Cookies by Karleigh Sue. I don't know about you but I love a good cookie and the temptation to raid the biscuit barrel was almost too much when I was making this, but I resisted so my dieting halo stayed in tact for once! I love this image as it reminds me of my teenage daughter ( who's also a cookie monster!).

I am very much feeling the Summer vibe at the moment so kept the card bright and cheery in blue and yellow. I am loving the combination at the moment, and I rarely use yellow so I can only assume the sunshine appearing and blue sky has inspired me!

If you haven't joined us already, you may be interested to know that Karleigh Sue has a brand new Facebook page. You can find us here. We would love you to join us and share in the fun there.
